The youth of the church are the hope for the continuity of God’s ministry in this world. As members of the Faithful Stewards Inc., the official youth organization under the International Christ Ministries (ICM) Inc., each youth must display their ardent faithfulness and responsible stewardship.

          It is high time to redefine the concept of our church’s youth about their role in the church and in the ministry. Though the Faithful Stewards in the Philippines gather annually for fellowship and camaraderie-building, oftentimes, there was neither tangible output nor significant growth in the ICM’s youth ministry. At the end of each annual gathering, most of the attendees would feel revived, blessed and closer to the Lord… But how long do these feelings last? What do the youth do once they were revived, blessed and closer to the Lord? What are the fruits and end-results of our Annual Youth Camp?

          This proposal aims to enlighten the concerned people on the new changes we, as officers of the Faithful Stewards organization, would like to embark as we would like to play our role in the ministry. Focusing on the Annual Youth Camp as our venue to kick-off towards a better church-youth organization, we hope that we will get the much needed support we need from the church officials, pastors, elders and every member so the vision that we have for our organization will be realized.

 

 

THE FAITHFUL STEWARDS’ ANNUAL YOUTH CAMP

The FS as an organization under the ICM started having youth camps after it was organized; a gathering other than that of the Annual National Convention which is being held every summer (month of April). There was a time that mainly due to financial concerns, both major ICM activities were merged; thus, the activity that solely focused on the youth ministry was combined the annual gathering of all the members of ICM.

The FS Annual Youth Camp was revived about few years ago as a separate activity and it was being held during the month of December. Though there were several pastors who were not in agreement to it, it was pushed through and most of the pastors who attended the recent youth camps were in agreement that this gathering was indeed a great Christian experience for all the attendees. Due to financial constraints again, there was a proposal that the youth camp will be conducted only once in every two (2) years. This proposal was agreed upon by the church leaders during the National Convention in Dumabato Church in Quirino province last April of 2006. But right after the Annual Youth Camp at the Borobor Church in Ilocos Sur last December 2006, which was proven to be a success, the officers of the church decided to do it the following year again (2007). However, this year, it will be held during the month of October or during the semester-break of the students who are in the college levels.
         

THE 2007 YOUTH CAMP: A Totally Different Experience

            The youth camp this year, a totally different experience for the Faithful Stewards. It is not a gathering of young people with activities but it is a start of a totally new Faithful Stewards Organization it is formulated to make the organization more active in its role to the church and the youth camp will be the kick-off point for the year-long plans for next year.

The Theme and Activities:

          The theme of the youth camp was “DEVELOPING THE CHAMPIONS FOR JESUS” it’s mainly focus is equiping the members of the organization to be working Christians, not only during the youth camp but all through out the years. This will also be a venue to develop new brand of youth leaders and a new organization that does not exist only during youth camps and conventions.
            The activities and lectures was focused on the individual’s role in the church as well as building a team of workers for the growth of the members and the church as well.

 

THE FAITHFUL STEWARDS by 2008

          We are going to be more visible and more active this year. Plans are being formulated to how and we will inform the board once the officers will meet again prior to the youth camp.

          To give you an idea, we envision year-long activities with monthly themes (i.e. Church Building, Leadership Month, Beautification, Music Month, Nature Month, etc.) We want to involve the youth more to the church so that they can be utilized for its growth.
