It is 4:00 PM on a
beautiful Saturday afternoon. Away from the hustles
and bustles of schoolwork, teens all around the island of
Oahu are seen enjoying the day, images of school and
teachers far from their minds. After all, they are just teens
savoring this time in their lives when all sense of
responsibility is at its lowest. What is there to think
about? Hang-out at the mall, skateboard with friends, chat
with each other about the opposite sex (yes, unfortunately
for parents that's a great part of this stage), play at the
beach with family, oh what a worry-free life. At this
same time, you will find a few teens who somehow found
another calling and a sense of responsibility in their
lives. Every Saturday afternoon, you will find these
teens giving their talents to make a difference in
people's lives. Sure they are joined by a few other
"older" people who most likely get on their nerves but
regardless, these teens choose to do it every Saturday. If
one had to think about it, these teens could very well
rather be somewhere else doing what other teens are doing -
living their teenage lives. Not to mention especially on
perfectly beautiful Saturday afternoons. These teens, who do
the extraordinary, may truly be called unsung heroes. They
are the praise and worship team of the International
Christian Ministries. Most times these teens don't receive
any recognition for their sacrifices, nor do they require
it. Yet they continue doing what they believe in, to give
their talents to bless others; to lead people with songs of
praise and worship so they can draw closer to God. Ralph,
Lei, KC, Jinny Kay, and Eric, may God bless you for your
sacrifices. May you continue to grow spiritually as you sacrifice your time and talents. You are not
only making a difference for the Lord, you are making a
difference in other people's lives. You surely are making a
difference in mine.
